Hey, nice to see a local guy on here. I've been really itching to do a blower setup on my daily. Would you mind showing me the truck some time? I just want to get a gauge for how I might set it up.
Cheers, bbcc |

Yeah, no problem at all. A group of us s-series guys meet for beers on fridays during the summer, you should come out. There's an "edmonton and area" thread in the Canada section on s10forum that we post meets and shoot the shit in if you want to check it out. |

Ya, I've been reading that once in a while. Never had a chance to come out during the summer. Haha, and I don't think I can take another lecture from franky about how great ls's are, haha . |

LOL, yeah but it's hard to argue that an LS2 wouldn't be a nice swap!
I finally got around to changing my motor mount. The truck was getting pretty shaky at idle and the charge tubing was rattling against the hood
Busted POS factory mount (not as bad as some I've seen but still seperating)
New Baja Customs mount
I only did the driver's side, I was worried about too much vibration in the cab. They're definately rock solid compared to the factory junk but they definately transfer alot more vibrations into the cab too! I've driven with it in for a day or so though and it's not too bad. |

Word on the street is there's a company about to make 2.2 solid mounts |

nope...
two plates with the mounting holes drilled out, a piece of pipe with machined out delrin bushings, some tabs to weld them together, and some washers and some bolts. Looks easy as hell to make. |

I still haven't put in the passenger side mount so if you guys want some dimensions I can get them. I wrecked the S/C headunit again - it locked up and shredded the serpentine belt on the highway this week. |

These headunits just use sealed bearings so there's no oil cooling/lubricating them. It's just a bad design IMO. I have the best bearings available in it, I'm running the stock pulley size and it's still dying. I definately won't put this headunit back in the truck. I'm considering my options right now but I may try a powerdyne XB-1a which is a gear-driven blower that uses engine oil for cooling/lube. It should be much more reliable and it can also put out 18 psi and more volume so it would be a significant upgrade. |

Got a good deal on a set of ZO6 wheels today so these will be going on next summer.
One needs minor repairs and one major as you can see from the pic. They came with 265/40-17 front and 295/35-18 rear Eagle F1's so hopefully that'll resolve some of the traction issues for the next autoX |
I have spacers... If you need them... I just took them off my truck... I have 2x 2.5" and 4x 2" Spacers... If you need or want any or all of them let me know. They are brand new... On my truck for less then 200 miles... |

I haven't updated this in a while since I haven't done much for handling.
I swapped in some wilwood 570 high temp brake fluid - I was getting pretty bad fade at the end of the runs last event. Pedal feel is immediately much more solid since the fluid probably hadn't been changed in years. I supposedly have some Hawk HPS pads on the way but I've had some trouble with the ebay seller so I'm not holding my breath.
I also had a normally aspirated tune put back in since I won't be running the S/C anymore. No torque management, upped line pressure and decreased shift times, ditched speed limiter, upped idle speed up by 75 rpms to help with the vibrations from the poly motor mount. For the record the fuel cut for the rev limiter is factory set at 5600 rpms which I hit in first gear at the last auto-X
Pics of the wheels on the truck which I already posted in the events section
Color-matched my grill - it was black before and I'm sure that slowed me down. I also cut out some of the plastic baffle behind the grill on the driver's side to get some more air to the intake - it probably won't do anything but I was waiting for paint to dry and it kept me occupied...
T/A performance diff girdle that I've had laying around forever and just got around to putting on

LOL! If the bride needed a girdle that heavy to control her goods I'd feel sorry for the groom... |

New KYB GR2's on the rear. I wanted to try a non gas-charged shock to soften up the rear a bit. They were cheap and did the trick and I won't feel guilty if I change the rear setup and have to ditch them.
hawk hps pads are on now - comparo vs. stock ones.
ZQ8 bumpstops are in. Not sure if I really noticed much of a difference at the last auto-X but it had been a while since the previous race so I didn't have a good back-to-back trial.

Those bump stops look TALL! Or is just me?
How much clearance is there before contact? |

I'll have to get a real measurement but you're right, they're almost touching at stock ZQ8 height! I couldn't feel a difference with normal day-to-day driving though so they must be pretty progressive. |

They're a lot softer than the standard bump stops. |
